SACRAMENTS
BAPTISMS
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the third Sunday of each month
at 12:00 p.m. You must be registered in the parish before arranging for
Baptism. A Baptism preparation class is required for those parents who
have not attended a class within the last two years. These can and should
be taken prior to the birth of the child. These instructions are held
quarterly on the second Sunday of January, April, July and October at
12:00 p.m. in Meeting Room #1. In the instruction class, a priest or
deacon will explain the various elements of the celebration as well as
the responsibilities of the parents and godparents. Please call the
parish office to make arrangements.
FIRST COMMUNION, FIRST PENANCE AND CONFIRMATION
The children in the second grade and Parish School of Religion (PSR)
students celebrate the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and the
Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Penance). Our 8th grade and PSR
students celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation every year. Parent
sessions are offered to help parents prepare their child for the
sacraments.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Saturdays 3:45-4:30 p.m., Tuesdays 8:00 a.m. or anytime by appointment.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK
Call the rectory or parish office anytime.
WEDDINGS
According to Diocesan guidelines, couples must contact the priest or
a deacon at least six months before the wedding date. The couple usually
meets several times with the priest or deacon and attends an Engaged
Couples Conference. Our Lady of Perpetual Help holds Engaged Couples
Conferences twice a year (February & September). There are specified
requirements if one or both parties are under 19 or if there is a
pregnancy.
