PARISH COMMUNITY
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
This ministry consists of volunteers who visit the family of a deceased
parish member at the mortuary. After a short period of time, two
volunteers follow up with phone calls and/or visits to the family for
approximately a year. The volunteers go through a bereavement training
process before becoming an active part of the ministry.
FEED YOUR NEIGHBOR
The "Feed Your Neighbor" program is for the collection of food
each weekend in baskets located near all front and side church exits. The
food is taken to Immaculate Conception Food Center on Monday of each
week. A food "suggestion" is listed in the bulletin weekly.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON PROGRAM
A service of providing funeral luncheon for families who have a burial
from our parish. The committee provides all paper products, non-alcoholic
beverages and all food-stuffs except for meat. The luncheon are held in
Meeting Room #1 or the cafeteria.
HOSPITAL MINISTRY
A group of OLPH parishioners, organized by teams, takes communion to
patients at St. Luke's hospital. They visit each Thursday, alternating on
a monthly basis with St. Rose Parish, Perrysburg.
MICHAELMAS MINISTRY
Michaelmas Manor is a diocesan sponsored complex located on Schneider
Road, which is geographically and spiritually included in our parish
community. There are facilities for both senior citizens and the
physically handicapped. This ministry includes Mass on the second and
fourth Tuesday of the month and Communion Service on Sunday. Anointing of
the Sick is provided twice a year.
MONEY COUNTERS
On Sundays, and holy days, the Mass collection funds are counted and
deposited. Teams are scheduled on a rotating basis.
PERPETUAL TIMES NEWSLETTER
Perpetual Times, the Parish and School newsletter, is published four
times a year on/around September 1st, December 1st, March 1st, and June
1st. The purpose of the newsletter is to inform the parish community of
parish and school events and activities and to promote Christianity.
STEWARDSHIP
The Stewardship Committee guides OLPH in the ways of stewardship by
strengthening our parish community spiritually and socially. Meetings are
held once a month. The
Stewardship Committee sponsors many events throughout the year such as
the Parish Picnic, Halloween Dance, Newcomer Dinners, Ministry Fair,
Rummage Sale and Coffee & Donut Sundays. Colette Leyland
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
An organization of lay persons who seek, in a spirit of justice and
charity, and by a person-to-person involvement, to help those who are in
material need often providing food and clothing. Meetings are held at
7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
WELCOMING COMMITTEE
This committee welcomes new parishioners to the OLPH parish family
through personal visits and inviting new members to participate in our
parish activities. They greet parishioners as they come to Mass and host
coffee and donut Sundays once a month from September to May. Volunteers use this ministry to show
the warmth of our Christian community, insuring each new member feels a
part of our parish.
